The Puslinch Optimist Club supports Optimist international’s Childhood Cancer Campaign.
The goals of the Childhood Cancer Campaign are:
- To provide support to children in the community who have been diagnosed with and are receiving treatment for cancer.
- To provide support to families and caregivers of children receiving treatment for cancer.
- To provide support to healthcare providers by purchasing equipment products and services.
- To provide support for cancer research.
Program motto is “Providing the care … finding the cure”.
Each year in North America more than 12,000 children and teenagers are diagnosed with cancer and it is the number one killer of children in North America. The good news is that almost 75% of childhood cancer can now be cured. The cancer death rate has dropped more dramatically for children than for any other age group.
Local cancer patients and their families have a friend in the Optimist Club of Puslinch. If you know of any family in the community who could benefit from this program, please contact any Optimist Club member with details.
